THIRD STAGE OF HIKING

Third stage between the refuge of Carrozzu (1270m) and Asco Stagnu.

Be careful, there is no water source on the course.

At the exit of the refuge and after a few minutes of walk, one is on the suspended bridge of Spasimata (1220m).

         

Once crossed, one goes up on large rock slabs with places equipped with safety chains.

The path rises through the rocks accompanied by alders to reach the lake of Muvrella (1860m). The end of the ascent is done on pebbles that hide under our feet.

It is half way, once arrived at Bocca di a Muvrella (2000 m), one begins the descent with a first part which is rather stiff, resembling climbing then one follows the ridge line until A Bocca di Stagnu (2010m).

We see the old ski resort of the Haut Asco where the descent is quite steep and interminable with muscular joints suffer.

The end of the route is through a forest of tall pines to reach the foot of the refuge. 

You have the possibility to stay either at the shelter of the park GR20 or at the hotel beside which also makes bivouac area with dormitory. Possibility to get supplies of cheese, bread, saussicon, water, soda …
